Wild Turkey, 16" x 20" Oil on Canvas

Anyone that has ever watched a longbeard strut into a patch of early morning sunlight knows that it's a sight to behold. The iridescence of a gobbler's breast feathers is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen and a real challenge to paint. In this painting I really pushed the color of the bird's feathers, trying to match the brilliance of the real thing.
